•1. Patients of age 20-60 years
•2. Both sexes
•3. Diagnosed to have benign gallbladder disease and planned for elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy

•Patients undergoing emergency cholecystectomy done for acute cholecystitis
•o Patients in whom the gall bladder bed is irrigated with saline for reasons like bile leak etc.
•o Patients with underlying respiratory and cardiac abnormalities
•o Patients who undergo any additional procedure
•o Patients on prolonged use of pain medication
•o Patients in whom drain is placed after the procedure
•o If laparoscopic cholecystectomy is converted into open cholecystectomy
•o If patients are started on opioids post operatively
•o Patients allergic to bupivacaine.
•o Patients who do not give consent for the study
