- aged 18 years or above
- sufficient knowledge of the German language to participate in the study
-employment for at least 15 hours per week in participating companies
- suspected diagnosis of common mental disorders according to the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD-10; World Health Organization (2004)) including unipolar depressive disorders (F32-F34), anxiety (F40, F41), stress-related and somatoform disorders (F42, F43, F45, F48.0) and non-organic sleep disorders (F51) or subclinical symptoms of psychosomatic disorders without ICD-10 diagnosis.
- unique or main diagnosis of substance abuse (F10-19), schizophrenia, psychosis (F20-F29) or organic psychiatric disorders (F00-F09)
- severe and unstable somatic health condition (e.g. cancer)
- current psychotherapeutic treatment
- application for retirement pension

Name Time Method Self-reported days of sickness absence within the last six months at the second follow-up

Name Time Method Self-efficacy at the second follow-up, measured by the German version of the validated return-to-work self-efficacy scale and the German version of the validated short form of the Occupational Self-Efficacy Scale.
