rheumatic mitral valve disease of moderate seviarity includes moderate mitral stenosis/ moderate mitral regurgitation/ combination of both with any of the high risk features in form of48-hour holter monitoring showing paroxysmal /non sustained atrial arrythmia.
Trans thoracic echocardiography LA anteroposterior diameter more than 3.5cm.
Abnormal LA strain or LAA velocity.
LA or LAA smoke.
History of transient ischemic attack in past.
Rheumatic mitral disease requiring intervention/surgery
Associated congenital heart disease.
Left ventricular systolic dysfunction
Associated chronic kidney disease or known coronary artery disease.
Pregnancy and lactation.
Low quality echocardiographic image.
Concomitant aortic stenosis and/or regurgitation .
