Evaluation of photobiomodulation in the control of dysgeusia in patients with head and neck cancer undergoing radiotherapy: a randomized clinical trial. - PBM-TASTE Photobiomodulation for Taste Alterations in Patients Undergoing Radiotherapy

At the end of radiotherapy (T2), the photobiomodulation group showed better preservation of bitter (87.5% vs. 75.0%), sour (87.5% vs. 62.5%), and salty (50.0% vs. 25.0%) taste perception compared with the zinc sulfate group, whereas the zinc sulfate group showed better preservation of sweet taste (75.0% vs. 50.0%). No statistically significant differences were observed between groups or across time after Bonferroni correction (p > 0.05).
