- •2. Undergoing elective non cardiac surgery under general anaesthesia.
- •3. Non diabetic and type 2 diabetic patients on Oral antihyperglycemic agents.

- •1.Patient refusal.
- •2.Pregnancy.
- •3.Known allergy to dexamethasone.
- •4.Patients previously/currently on steroids.
- •5.Short duration surgeries of less than one hour
