How a mobile based application enabled counseling improves the quality of postnatal care which is provided after delivery and comparing this with the prior care

- All the Antenatal mothers in the III Trimester who has decided to stay for 6 months after delivery in the service area of JIPMER will be enrolled after their written informed consent.

- Brief Summary
After assessing the barriers foradequate postnatal visits to be delivered by the health worker, by aqualitative assessment, a training program will be conducted for the health workers from the selected PHCs. Thetraining will enable them to deliver structured counseling on importance ofIron supplementation and exclusive breast feeding during postpartum. It will beensured that other family members in the family also participate in the counsellingsession. Using a locally developed Application (APP), real-time monitoring willalso be done. The Adherence to IFA will be verified by pill count and Hbestimation for Mothers will be done by the investigator during postintervention at mother’s home.
