Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • patients with periodontitis with probing depth of greater than or equal to 6mm planning for surgical pocket therapy without osseous surgery as per 2017 classification of periodontal diseases and conditions
  • patients with good oral hygiene maintenance after phase 1 therapy

Exclusion Criteria

  • patients not willing to participate in the study
  • medically compromised patients
  • pregnant and lactating women
  • patients who had undergone previous periodontal surgical therapy
  • history of antibiotic intake with in the past 3 months
