Infertility has becomea most significant problem nowadays with changing lifestyle, multitasking,stress & pollution . Infertility is a serious healthissue worldwide, affecting approximately 8%–10% of couples worldwide.Of 60–80 million couples suffering from infertility every year worldwide,probably between 15 and 20 million (25%) are in India alone.According to a report by the World Health Organization (WHO), one in every fourcouples in developing countries is affected by infertility. Although geneticfactor is also one of the cause but lifestyle remains the prime reason forinfertility due to thin unhealthy endometrial where nidation and growth of thezygote suffers. With the availability of assisted reproductive techniques ,manycouples opt for IVF which is an expensive treatment but sans healthyendometrium nothing is fruitful. The endometrium is primed by hormones for thispurpose .For the same purpose Ayurveda offers Uttar Basti procedure,whichfetched good results in pilot studies.
‘Uttarbasti’ animportant procedure unique to Ayurved; The technique adopted is similar to Intra uterineinsemination done while treating infertility in modern times. It is a powerfultool while treating majority of gynaecological disorders especially infertility.

- Married females 18-40 yrs of age Oligomenorrhoea Endometrial thickness below 7mm.
- Polycystic ovarian disease.
Congenital abnormalities Chronic systemic disorders Pelvic inflammatory Disease Cervical erosion Leucorrhoea Bleeding conditions Carcinoma of the uterus ; Cervix & ovaries.
