Inclusion Criteria
1.American society of anaesthesiologist 1&2 patients aged 18 to 65 years scheduled for intracranial surgery under sevoflurane or desflurane anesthesia.
Exclusion Criteria
1 Refusal of consent.
2 Patients suffering from diabetes,thyroid dysfunction ,renal or hepatic disease.
3 Patients taking steroids, beta adrenergic blocking agents, insulin or
oral hypoglycaemic agents.
4 Pregnant or lactating patients.
5 Chronic alcoholic patients.
