Inclusion Criteria

control group : Patients who do not have type 2 diabetes, between 40 and 80 years of age, and who do not meet the other exclusion criteria, and are planning cataract surgery at our medical center.
type 2 diabetes mellitus with no diabetic retinopathy: Among patients with type 2 diabetes who are between 40 and 80 years of age, who do not have diabetic retinopathy and are planning cataract surgery at our medical center.
type 2 diabetes mellitus with diabetic retinopathy: Type 2 diabetes patients aged 40 to less than 80 who have diabetic retinopathy and are planning cataract surgery at our medical center.

Exclusion Criteria

- patients who are taking medications that may affect tear secretion, such as diuretics
- Systemic diseases other than diabetes that may affect the ocular surface (Sjogren's syndrome, hemodialysis, etc.)
- In case of accompanying ocular surface disease such as allergic conjunctivitis, preexisting severe dry eye or meibomian gland dysfunction
- If intravitreal or periocular drug injection has been performed within the last 3 months
- patinets who havelaser corneal resection (LASIK, LASEK, Excimer laser) in the past
- In case of complications related to cataract surgery (posterior capsule rupture, retinal detachment, intraocular lens reoperation due to positional abnormalities, macular edema, etc.)
- If the subject is unable to read and understand the consent form and is unable to voluntarily consent (intelligence
the underprivileged, the elderly, foreigners, illiteracy, etc.)
