- Brief Summary
This study is a randomised double,blinded parallel group, single centre trial comparing the efficacy of pretreatment Ondansetron 4mg ,Lidocaine 40mg or Dexamethasone 6mg Administered intravenously, in alleviating the pain caused by administration of injection Propofol during induction of general anesthesia in adult patients scheduled for routine surgical procedures.The secondary objective is to assess any reaction to the drugs at the injection site at the end of the surgical procedures. .

Inclusion Criteria
- 1.Patients in the age group 18-59 yrs 2.American society of anaesthesiology (ASA) physical status I and II.
- 3.All general surgical procedures .
Exclusion Criteria
- Patients with allergy to propofol, lignocaine.
- Patients with cardiac conduction defects, congenital heart diseases 4.
- Haemodynamic instability 5.
- Patients with chronic pain syndromes.

Name Time Method To compare the efficacy of pre-treatment with lidocaine, ondansetron or dexamethasone in reducing the pain of propofol injection in adult patients scheduled for surgical procedures under general anaesthesia. assessment of pain scoring 15 seconds after administering propofol
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method To assess any reaction to the drug at injection site. at the end of general surgical procedure approximately 60-90 minutes.
