Aims: Comparative clinical evaluation of Activa Bioactive resin with Spectrum Universal Microhybrid Composite resin in Non Carious Cervical Lesions (NCCLs).
Background: To establish the mostsuitable material for the restoration of NCCLs.
Settings and Design: In vivo study.
Materials and Methods: A total of 150 NCCLs were restored, 75 restorations with Activa Bioactive resin ( group 1) and 75 restorations with Spectrum Universal Microhybrid Composite resin (group 2). Clinicalevaluation of the restorations was done following the modified Unites States PublicHealth criteria by a single investigator. Data were formulated, andstatistical analysis was done.
**Statistical Analysis Used:**Mann Whitney U Test for intergroup comparison and Wicoxon matched pair test between time points.
Results: Both,Activa Bioactive and Spectrum Universal showed clinically acceptable resultsover a period of one year, with retention rates being 100% and 96.9%. Significantdifference was found between Activa Bioactive resin and Spectrum Universal Microhybrid Composite resin in relation to surface texture at 1-year (P < 0.05).
Conclusions: Activa Bioactive can be considered as an alternative choice for restoring NCCLs:
· As it has excellent physical properties
· Exhibits the property of release and rechargeof calcium, phosphate and fluoride which helps in forming a strong chemical bondwith the tooth surface, preventing microleakage.

- •Vital teeth
- •Presence of occlusion and proximal contact with adjacent teeth
- •Presence of at least two NCCL’s with equal depth (1-2 mm).
排除标准
- •Class V lesion extending below the CEJ
- •Patients teeth having lesions more than 2 mm in depth
- •Teeth with cervical caries and gingival recession
- •Abnormal occlusion
- •Patients with poor oral hygiene.
