Age between 18-55 years
Both genders
Minimum ten years of formal education
Fluency in English/Hindi Language, with ability to comprehend English text in assessment tools.
Primary diagnosis of mild to moderate depression or dysthymia and seeking treatment for the same i.e., taking treatment as usual (Outpatient only)
Stabilized on medication for four weeks prior to the entry into the study
A primary diagnosis of Psychosis, Schizoaffective disorder, Bipolar affective disorder (current episode mania), Current episode of severe depression with psychotic symptoms, Current psychoactive substance dependence (except nicotine dependence)
Individuals with active suicidal ideation or attempts
History and clinical impression suggestive of intellectual disability
History suggestive of any debilitating medical/ neurological/ neurosurgical/ general medical illness requiring priority management or that could interfere with assessment or therapy
Individuals, who have received a structured psychological intervention of more than 8
sessions in the past three months for depression
Individuals who are currently undergoing any structured psychotherapeutic treatment.
