Inclusion Criteria

1)Patients aged 20-65 years

2)American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status (ASA) I&II

3)either sex

4)posted for elective surgical procedures (lasting for upto 90 minutes)

5)requiring general anaesthesia with LMA insertion

Exclusion Criteria

•Surgeries of Oral cavity and Pharynx

•More than 1 attempts for LMA insertion

•Anticipated difficult intubation, Mallampatti Grade III and IV

•Pregnancy, Gastroesophageal reflux disease, Obesity( BMI > 30)

•Patients with active Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (URTI)

•Emergency cases

•Patients with significant pre-operative derangement of renal/hepatic functions

•Patients with significant cardiovascular and respiratory diseases such as asthma, COPD

•Any reaction to study drugs ( turmeric and menthol)
