-first rhegmatogenous retinal detachment
-macula detached
-no other pathology that can influence visual functioning

Exclusion Criteria

-indication for immediate surgery
-visual functioning influencing pathology in the affected eye
-visual functioning influencing pathology non-affected eye
-history of retinal detachment, either eye
