•Adult patients (18-65yr) of either sex admitted in CCU with the diagnosis of sepsis based on sepsis-3 definition()Sepsis is defined as life-threatening organ dysfunction caused by a dysregulated host response to infection. Organ dysfunction can be identified as an acute change in total SOFA score >=2 points consequent to the infection. The baseline SOFA score can be assumed to be zero in patients not known to have pre-existing organ dysfunction), raised procalcitonin( >0.5), and identified source of infection.

•1. Sepsis Induced acute lung injury before admission of intensive care unit.
•2. Patients with head injury
•3. Patients with preexisting lung injury.
•4. Patients with cardiovascular disease.
•5. Critical care unit mortality or loss to follow up within 7 days of admission.
