Exclusion Criteria

locally advanced disease not amenable for resection

refused consent

large lymph nodes in subpyloric and suprapyloric region requiring a classical whipples

Delayed gastric emptyingTimepoint: Delayed gastric emptying was classified and graded according to the International Study Group Of Pancreatic Surgery (ISGPS) classification. Grade A DGE was said to occur if a nasogastric tube (NGT) was required between postoperative day (POD) 4-7. Grade B DGE was said to be present if an NGT was present from POD 8-14 and Grade C if the nasogastric intubation could not be discontinued or had to be reinserted after POD 14 or if the patient could not maintain unlimited oral intake by POD 21
