Inclusion Criteria

The subject with Angle’s Class 1 bimaxillary protrusion or Angle’s Class II div 1 malocclusion with minimal crowding of less than 3 mm requiring extraction of upper first premolars.

- Subjects with a full complement of teeth present, excluding third molars

- The subjects having a Mombelli bleeding index with a score of =1 and Turesky plaque index with a score of =1.

Exclusion Criteria

Subjects having a history of trauma

- Subjects with any craniofacial syndromes or clefts.

- Periodontally compromised subjects

- Prior history of orthodontic treatment

- Subjects who had used antibiotics three months prior to the study

- Subjects having known allergy to Ni or any other metal

- Subjects having abnormalities of root visible on the patient’s OPG.
