Inclusion Criteria

Ability to walk short distances (10 m) without walking aid
- Capacity to consent exists (MMSE > 22 pts) and understand the training programme
- Participation in inpatient geriatric acute rehabilitation for participants at the Klinikum Bremerhaven-Reinkenheide (does not apply for the patients at the Rehabilitationszentrum Oldenburg)
- Participation in inpatient geriatric rehabilitation for participants at the Rehabilitationszentrum Oldenburg (does not apply for the patients at the Klinikum Bremerhaven-Renkenheide)
- Sufficient knowledge of German or English to follow the training instructions

Exclusion Criteria

- Aphasia to an extent that participation in the study is not possible
- Severe visual limitations that impede the participation in the training intervention
- High grade presbycusis
- Severe impairment of physical functionality and limitations of functions of the arms and legs with the inability to walk
- Body mass > 135 kg (technical limitation)
- Height > 185 cm (technical limitation)
- Joint replacement surgery of the lower extremities within the past 3 weeks
