Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Patients of either sex aged 18\-60 yr, ASA grade I, II posted for cervical spine fixation(elective) surgery under general anaesthesia (GA)

Exclusion Criteria

  • a. Unwilling and uncooperative patient.
  • b. Patient with severe respiratory, cardiovascular, renal diseases.
  • c. Haemodynamically unstable patient.
  • d. ASA grade III and IV.
  • e. Patients on medication like ACE inhibitor, alpha\- antagonist and long term use of benzodiazepine and tricyclic antidepressant.
  • f. Comatose patient.
  • g. Patient requiring emergency cervical spine surgery.
  • h. Any type of A\-V block, severe bradycardia.
