Study Overview

Brief Summary

This study evaluates the accuracy of phone based 3D scanning applications for clinical use in assessing facial morphometry. Traditional 2D imaging remains common in clinical practice, while high precision 3D cameras are costly and less accessible for routine use. Smartphone based 3D scanning offers a practical and affordable alternative. The study involves participants aged 18 to 35 years without facial deformities or asymmetry. Standardized anatomical landmarks are marked and linear and angular facial measurements are recorded clinically. The same parameters are then measured using a selected smartphone 3D scanning app. Key measurements include facial thirds, lip lengths, intercanthal width, inter alar width, commissural length, bizygomatic width, bigonial width, and angular facial relationships. Statistical analysis compares the agreement between manual and app based measurements to determine accuracy and reproducibility. Existing literature suggests that smartphone scanning can provide reliable morphometric data.
