Age at presentation more than 18 years
Active atopic dermatitis, diagnosis of which shall be made on 2 grounds: 1. Fulfillment of Hanifin and Rajkaâ??s original criteria, and 2. Expert opinion where 3 independent eczema experts shall decide whether or not a patient has atopic dermatitis and the cases where all the experts decide unanimously on the diagnosis shall be recruited in the present study.
Willing to undergo filaggrin mutation status assessment, serum IgE levels (total and specific) and patch testing with atopic patch tests and standard patch testing with Indian standard series.
Pregnancy and lactation
Any immunocompromised state
Isolated hand eczema in absence of any other lesions of atopic dermatitis on body.

Name Time Method To see whether the presence of any of these mutations in adults having atopic dermatitis has a correlation with <br/ ><br>1.Age of onset of eczema (pediatric-onset vs adult-onset AD) and its duration <br/ ><br>2.Severity of eczema at presentation <br/ ><br>3.Levels of total and specific serum IgE levels at presentation <br/ ><br>4.Results of atopy patch tests and standard patch tests carried out with Indian standard series. <br/ ><br>Timepoint: Baseline only
