Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\. The participants have been diagnosed as essential hypertension and has systolic blood pressure (SBP) over 141 to 160 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) over 90 to 100 mmHg after being treated with antihypertensive medicines at least two months
  • 2\. Aged over 35 years old.
  • 3\. No signs and symptoms of headache and muscle pain
  • 4\. Good consciousness.
  • 5\. Able to understand Thai language

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\. The persons who have systolic blood pressure (SBP) over 161 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) over 101 mmHg.
  • 2\. The participants who might develop complications during the experimental phase which are: (1\) diabetes (FBS over 130 mg/dl and HbA1C over 7\); (2\) eye complication such as retinal edema, optic disc edema and nerve fiber layer hemorrhage and cotton wool spot; (2\) kidney complication such as kidney disease grade 4 and 5 (GFR less than 30%); (3\) cardiovascular complication such as heart failure (HF), myocardial infarction (MI) and unstable angina and do not have severe headache 3 times/week
