Name Time Method The study, using a mixed-methods approach, primarily pursues qualitative research methods. Adherence is the main focus with following points:
• Employees’ adherence among noise management in the ICU.
• Adherence to noise management in intensive care units from the perspective of managers and persons of the coordinating area.
• Potential factors influencing adherence to noise management in the ICU.
Adherence will be assessed through qualitative research methods. First, participatory observations take place in a period of four weeks, to record the behaviour towards noise in the daily routine of the ICU ward. The analyses are descriptive in nature and follow grounded theory. Taking into account the findings from the observations, in another four weeks period, semi-structured interviews will be conducted to deepen the findings.
