Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Consenting adult participants that have a confirmed diagnosis of type 2 diabetes based on standard diagnostic criteria such as fasting plasma glucose level (case samples). Healthy consenting adult participants (control samples).
Exclusion Criteria
- •Participants having an active infection or who are taking immunosuppressive or antimicrobial medication during the time of sample collection or in the week prior to sample collection. Participants who are pregnant or have other conditions such as autoimmune diseases, neutropenia, or cancer will also be excluded to minimize potential confounding factors.
