We are going to take sample size of 32 . 16 in each group, and we are going to compare patient comfort level during awake fiber optic intubation

- •ASAgrade 1,2,3.
排除标准
- •Documented or diagnosed hearing impairment
- •Documented or diagnosed psychiatric or neurological illness
- •Patients with bleeding disorder.
- •4.Known allergies to any drug likely to be used during anaesthesia
- •Patient with nasal trauma, fracture base of skull, any history of epistaxis,nadsal poly/tumor.
- •6.Anticipated post op mechanical ventilation.

时间窗: 10 minutes
次要结局
- Anxiety levels(Baseline and 15 minutes after intervention)
- Mean arterial pressure, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and oxygen saturation(Baseline and at every 2 minutes interval till completion of intubation)
- Total time taken for awake fiberoptic intubation(starting from insertion of fiberoptic cable into one of the nostril till placement of endotracheal tube into the tracheal)
- Anaesthesiologists perception of difficulty in fiberoptic intubation(after completion of fiberoptic intubation)
- serum cortisol and IL-6 levels(baseline, after intubation and 6 hours after surgery)
