Inclusion Criteria
1.Age 19-75 years
2.Patients with isolated diagnosis of symptomatic one/two-level lumbar central stenosis or disc herniations.
3.Planned for elective one/two-level uni/bi-lateral open lumbar laminectomy with or without discectomy
4.No known allergies to constituents of medication to be instituted as part of study
Exclusion Criteria
1.Previous lumbar surgeries
2.On medications for other medical issues
3.Multi-level symptomatic spinal conditions
4.Peripheral neuropathy
5.h/o psychiatric disorders and neuromuscular disorders
6.Workmen compensation claim candidates
7.Patients with systemic inflammatory disorders e,g rheumatoid arthritis
8.Patients on steroids/immunosuppressant medications
