Patients with 18 years old or more; literate; submetted elective surgeries potentially contaminated; admitted on the same day of the surgical procedure or at most with three days of hospitalization prior to surgery; absence of infectious or inflammatory process; to use correctly cloths antisseptic 2% CHG and 2% CHG conventional (liquid)
Patients submitted to previous surgeries, in a period bottom the 30 days, or 90 days when implant of prosthesis; presence of skin lesions or known allergy to 2% CHG; make used daily of products containing antiseptics (creams and / or liquid soaps or bar soaps containing chlorhexidine gluconate, triclosan or similar) in their daily activity; use of antibiotics or similar drugs two weeks before and during the period of data collection

Name Time Method Difference between the use of cloth antiseptic with CHG 2% and the bath with CHG 2% conventional / liquid for the preoperative preparation of the skin, for the prevention of surgical site infection. Data collected the day before surgery, and 30 days after the intervention.
