Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Patients performing one spinal level OLIF surgery.
  • age 20 to 75 years old
  • American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status of 1–3

Exclusion Criteria

  • Previous spinal surgery
  • Bleeding tendency or anticoagulation
  • Allergic reaction to the contrast agent
  • Allergic reaction to the local anesthetic agent
  • Chronic usage of narcotic painkillers
  • Functional conditions that are unable to walk due to paralysis of the lower extremities
  • Impossible to assess pain due to communication difficulties
  • If the patient refuses or does not agree to participate
  • Severe liver disease, kidney disease, arrhythmia patients (risks for using ropivacaine)
