Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •Patients performing one spinal level OLIF surgery.
  • •age 20 to 75 years old
  • •American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status of 1–3

Exclusion Criteria

  • •Previous spinal surgery
  • •Bleeding tendency or anticoagulation
  • •Allergic reaction to the contrast agent
  • •Allergic reaction to the local anesthetic agent
  • •Chronic usage of narcotic painkillers
  • •Functional conditions that are unable to walk due to paralysis of the lower extremities
  • •Impossible to assess pain due to communication difficulties
  • •If the patient refuses or does not agree to participate
  • •Severe liver disease, kidney disease, arrhythmia patients (risks for using ropivacaine)
