at least 6 months history of diabetes; receiving medication to control blood sugar and non-use of insulin during the study; BMI <35; age: 35 to 70 years old; not being pregnant or breastfeeding; no signs of infection (pneumonia, urinary tract infection, sepsis) that had leukocytosis, neutrophils or bandemia in tests; no history of other diseases (types of malignancies, rheumatic diseases, hormonal disorders and other specific diseases); non-use of traditional/supplementary medicine interventions.
Exclusion criteria: the incidence of liver, kidney, heart, or thyroid dysfunction; inflammatory diseases and the need to take insulin during the study; pregnancy during the study; reluctance to continue the study; any intolerance of herbal products; incidence of ketoacidosis or severe hyperglycemia during study; changing the anti-diabetes drug regime during the study.
