All patients in the emergency department of Rijnstate Hospital, Arnhem, presenting with a new diagnosed closed Colles' fracture (distal radiusfracture within 2cm of the radiocarpal joint with dorsoradial dislocation, AO type 23.A2 and 23.A3 (extra-articular) and 23.C1 and 23.C2 (intra-articular))
- pts<16yo (and thus greenstick fractures)
- Additional fracture of carpal bones/elbow joint
- pts that do not need reduction
- pts with pre-existent wrist trauma or pathological bone (cyste, metastasis)
- pts that cannot give informed consent
- pts with bilateral wrist fractures
- (open Colles* fractures)
- (Smith, Barthon, reversed Barthon or Chauffeurs fracture)
