Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\. Subjects clinically diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis.
  • 2\. Knee osteoarthritis subjects with myofascial trigger points in hamstring, quadriceps, iliotibial and/or gastronemius muscles

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\. Recent fractures of femur (less than 1 year)
  • 2\. Febrile states
  • 3\. Systemic or localized infections
  • 4\. Surgical incisions and open wounds
  • 5\. Skin hypersensitivity
  • 6\. Advanced diabetes or sensory deficit over thigh
  • 7\. Intraarticular corticosteroids injection in the last 6 months, pain medications in preceding 6 hours
  • 8\. Bleeding disorders
  • 9\. Other musculoskeletal disorders, that is, low back ache, osteoarthritis hip, osteoarthritis ankle, plantar fasciitis.
  • 10\. Knee osteoarthritis patients with no current complaints of pain.
