Any patient of age more than or equal to 18 with acute diarrhea ( Diarrhea lasting for less than or equal to 14 days)
1. Known cases of Inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, celiac disease or any other known causes of malabsorption syndromes.
2. Patients who are on immunosuppressant therapy, cancer chemotherapy and radiotherapy
3. Known cases of HIV.
4. Patients on laxatives.
5. Patients with history of bowel resection or other major bowel surgeries

Name Time Method The difference in the proportion of the patients with resolution of diarrhea by day 5 in the intervention group compared to the control group.Timepoint: Day 5 of recruitment
