Female patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) fulfilling American College of Rheumatology classification criteria for SLE
a)Women less than 18 yrs age or more than 45 years
b)Post menopausal women
c)Presence of established cardiovascular disease
d)Taking corticosteroids more than 15mg per day of Prednisolone or equivalent
e)Not willing to take Vitamin D supplementation
f)History of diabetes mellitus
g)History of familial hypercholesterolemia
h)Recent (less than 6 months) use of mega doses of vitamin D
i)Pregnant
j)Morbidly obese
k)Past or current tobacco use or smoking
