- •Clinical diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder meeting DSM-IV criteria and clinical judgment of capacity of psychological mindedness

- •Clinical risk assessment that there may be a significant acute risk of suicide or harm to others, that there is an active psychotic illness, or that there is use of alcohol or drugs to the extent that the subject cannot engage with the treatment.
