入选标准
- •Children between 2 months to 5 years of age with severe pneumonia (as defined by WHO/IMCI) admitted to Pediatric Wards of B. P. Koirala Institute Health Sciences, whose parents are willing to provide written informed consent will be eligible for inclusion in the study
排除标准
- •Children suffering from severe malnutrition (as defined by WHO) or severe anemia (Hb < 8 g/dL)
- •Pneumonia due to measles, aspiration of foreign body
- •Presence of hepatic or renal disease
- •Congenital abnormalities ( cardiac, renal disease, or genetic)
- •Complicated pneumonia (lung abscess, pleural effusion, pneumatocele, atelectasis
- •Previous IV antibiotic for more than 24 hours
