Brief Summary

Suryavarta is among the Shiroroga mentioned by many Acharyas,It is presented by the clinical features like pain at Akshi (region of eyes) and Bhru(eyebrow) which increases with the intensity of sun (mid-day) and gradually subsideswith sunset; sometimes it is relieved with cold measures and sometimes with the hotmeasures. Bhringaraja Swarasadi Siddha Taila Nasya in Suryavarta ismentioned in Bhavaprakasha Nighantu. In treatment of Shiroroga, Nasya is veryeffective. As nose (Nasa) is considered as a gateway to Shira. Hence Nasya of abovementioned drug will be given to the patients who suffer with symptoms like Suryavarta.

Inclusion Criteria
  • Patients presenting with the clinical features of Suryavarta like headache increases in mid-day, pain at Akshi (eye region), Bhru (eyebrow region), Lalata (forehead) and Sankha Pradesh (temporal region).
  • The age group between 18 years to 60 years.
  • Patients of any gender, economic status, religion, occupation.
  • Patient eligible for Nasya karma.
Exclusion Criteria
  • Patient having any systemic/ chronic illness like hypertension, diabetes.
  • Pregnant and lactating women 3.
  • Headache due to neurological pathologies like tumor, etc.
  • Patient suffering from Dushta Pratishaya.
