The study includes all patients under intensive care monitoring and therapy with a length of stay >48 hours in the surgical intensive care units of the UKB
All participating patients have signed the patient consent form for participation in the study and the privacy policy after extensive explanation, clarification and information or were represented by the authorized spouse as part of the spousal proxy after extensive explanation
