Inclusion Criteria

Those who fulfil the criteria for alcohol dependence as per ICD 10 DCR Criteria and have a cut off 4 on Alcohol, Smoking and Substance Involvement Screening Test.

-Patients who will successfully complete the detoxification program of 15 days.

-Patients with educational qualification of 10th standard.

Exclusion Criteria

-Patients who are dependent on other psychoactive substances except alcohol and nicotine.

-Patients with comorbid psychiatric illness.

-Patients with complicated withdrawal in terms of seizures, delirium tremens and alcohol hallucinosis.

-Those who will not give informed consent.

Primary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod
To improve social cognition in alcohol dependent patients which in turn will reduce the chances of relapse.Timepoint: Scores on Social Cognition Screening Questionnaire and Severity of Alcohol Dependence Questionnaire will be assessed at 4 weeks.
Secondary Outcome Measures

To improve motivation to change in current pattern of drinking.Timepoint: To have reduced scores on Alcohol, Smoking and Substance Involvement Screening Test and ambivalence component of Stages of Change Readiness and Treatment Eagerness Scale after 4 weeks.
