简要总结

There are many studies done to compare the acute effects of static and dynamic stretching on power and agility in various sports, but there are no studies done in recreational badminton players. Till date no research has investigated the effect of 2 weeks of different stretching modes on physical performance like power and agility in recreational female badminton players. Hence, the current study intends to compare the effect of 2 weeks of a dynamic warm up (based on the APFS model) with that of a static-stretching warm up and no warm up on selected measures of power and agility in recreational female badminton players. These results may assist athletes and coaches in deciding what type of stretching to use when preparing the athletes for activities that require power and agility. Dependent variables to assess power and agility are chosen, because these attributes are common requirements for a variety of sports. The dynamic warm up protocol in this study will closely mimic the power and agility requirements of many sports.

HYPOTHESES :

Null hypothesis {H0}:

1.      There will be no difference on power and agility in the dynamic stretching group, static stretching group and the control group.

Alternate hypothesis {Ha}:

1.      There will be a significant difference on power and agility in the dynamic stretching group, static stretching group and the control group.

2.      There will be equal difference in the dynamic stretching group, static stretching group and the control group.
