Uncomplicated cases of ulcerative colitis of moderate to severe category in severity as per Modified True Love Witts severity index of diagnosis of ulcerative colitis and exhibiting symptoms of raktatisar i.e. excessive passing of rakta mishrita mala for more than three times per day
Documented diagnosis(endoscopic, surgical or x-ray, patient must have one of these reports) of ulcerative colitis(UC)
Patients who are ready to give consent for trial with firm residential address and contact numbers.
Any serious life threatening disease
Concomitant Ayurvedic or any other treatment for any illness
Patients below 21 years and above 50 years
Pregnant and lactating mothers
Any episode of MI in last 3months
Hospitalization in last 3 months due to any heart problem and poorly controlled
hypertension.
Positive stool culture for enteric pathogens(salmonella, shigella, and
campylobacter), positive stool ova and parasite exam.
Any major psychiatric illness
Malabsorption syndrome
Tuberculosis, lactose intolerance, IBS, Crohnâ??s disease, coeliac disease, gluten
intolerance, CA colon and rectum, diabetes mellitus, malignancy and any other
disorder
