Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •physically active male and female subjects participating in sports with a high risk of lateral ankle sprains (soocer, handball, basketball, volleyball)
- •age: 18\-35 years
- •All subjects have no orthopaedic and neurologic disorders. In addition, subjects of the reference group have no impairments in ankle joint control during daily activity and during exercise. The subjects with chronic ankle instability have a injury history of at least 2 lateral ankle sprains in the last 2 years.
Exclusion Criteria
- •Subjects (functional instable; mechanical and functional combined)
- •\- orthopaedic and neurological disorders
- •\- any surgery at the ankle joint and the foot
- •\- last ankle sprain in a period of less than three month before the measurement
- •\- any acute impairments due to a recent lateral ankle sprain
- •Healthy Controls:
- •\- orthopaedic and neurological disorders
- •\- any surgery at the ankle joint and the foot
- •\- any lateral ankle sprain in the past
