Inclusion Criteria
1. Female gender;
2. age between 6 and 12 years;
Exclusion Criteria
Congenital anomalies of the lower urinary tract except for vesico-ureteral reflux; and previous surgery of the urinary tracts except for surgery concerning vesico-ureteral reflux and correction of meatal stenosis.

Name Time Method The primary outcome parameter of the study is the absence of urinary tract infections. This is defined as having had no urinary tract infections in the last 6 months of study observation.
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Secondary outcome measures are:<br /><br>absence of urinary incontinence in the last 6 months of study observation and recovery of the normal rectal sensation.
