Patients of type 2 diabetes, able to read, write and understand Hindi, at least 30 years old or more, had been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes mellitus for at least 1 year, had recent blood test results within the past three months at the time of recruitment, and should be able to communicate in Hindi language.
Patients who were pregnant or breastfeeding an infant, or those with severe health problems or psychiatric / psychological disorders that caused cognitive impairments and could not complete interviews will be excluded. Severe health problems such as life threatening diseases, recent acute complications or injuries and recently discharged from hospital will also be excluded.
