Inclusion Criteria
1. Patients with chronic (persistent or permanent) atrial fibrillation
2. Resting heart rate: >=80 bpm
Exclusion Criteria
1. Patients with a history of myocardial infarction within 6 months
2. Patients with cardiac failure, cardiomyopathy, cardiogenic shock, or myocarditis, or reduced cardiac function
3. Patients with a history of apoplectic insult or cerebrovascular accident, etc.
