Exploring the prevalence of Musculoskeletal Disorders among Security Officers in Greater Noida- A cross sectional study

The musculoskeletal system is an important part of human health. In addition to giving structure and mobility to the body, the musculoskeletal system works as an endocrine system, stimulated by exercise, communicating with other organs in the body via biochemical signals. Much research has been done on the most common musculoskeletal disorders in many populations but security guards have not been done before so the need for a study arises.

The need to develop effective preventive strategies includes training and education. A Security guard may be exposed to situations that result in physical and psychological sickness while doing their jobs. MSDs involving the neck, upper extremities, and lower back are common among educators. It has been discovered that occupational factors such as long-standing work of more than 8 hours, uncomfortable posture, and psychosocial factors such as a bad social work environment, elevated anxiety, and low job satisfaction contribute.
