1.Smoking history:
A) GROUP I –Smokers group: Patients who has smoked =100 cigarettes in his or her lifetime and who currently smokes cigarettes.
B) GROUP II –Non-smokers group: Patients who has never smoked in his or her life.
2. Patients both male/ female, age ranging from 18 - 60 years of age and able to sign an informed consent form.
3.Having a single missing tooth in anterior and/or posterior area in any of the jaw, requiring dental implant placement with delayed prothesis.
4.Periodontally stable dentition.
5.Maintainable good oral hygiene having a score of plaque index and gingival index = 1.
6.Adequate bone volume to accommodate an implant without the need for bone augmentation.
7.Who will be ready to give compliance with study.
1.History of systemic diseases like uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, hypertension, hyper/hypothyroidism, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), atherosclerosis etc.
2.Pregnant and lactating mother.
3.Patient who is on long term medication or allergic to any medication.
4.Presence of acute dental infection.
5.Unwillingness to return for the follow-up examination.
6.Patients with parafunctional habits.
7.A close relationship to anatomic vital structures (i.e., mandibular canal, nasal cavity, maxillary sinus).
