Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\.Age between 18 to 80 years of age and American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Physical Status Class I, II and III.
  • 2\.Patients undergoing exploratory laparotomy by midline incision for colorectal cancer surgery.
  • 3\.Patients giving consent for the procedure

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\.Infection at injection site
  • 2\.Allergy to local anesthetics
  • 3\.Coagulation disorders
  • 4\.Severe obesity (BMI \> 40\)
  • 5\.Physical or mental diseases which could interfere with the evaluation of pain scores.
  • 6\.Kidney failure
  • 7\.Liver failure
