Brief Summary

• Plaque index evaluation before and after toothbrush use (Paired t-test) - The average plaque index before using the microcurrent toothbrush was 74.46, and the plaque index after the use was 68.35, with a difference of p<0.05 (p=0.017). -The average plaque index before using a regular toothbrush was 74.46, and the plaque index after that was 73.44, p>0.05 (p=0.612), there was no significant difference. • Evaluation of dental caries activity before and after using a toothbrush (Paired t-test) - The average dental caries activity before using the microcurrent toothbrush was 66.03, and the average dental caries activity after the use was 59.75, p>0.05 (p=0.184) There was no significant difference. - The average dental caries activity before using a general toothbrush was 66.03, and the average dental caries activity after was 64.47, p>0.05 (p=0.571) There was no significant difference. - Dental caries activity pH was in the range of 41-70 points (pH4.4-5.5) in the medium risk group in all groups. Toothbrush Satisfaction Comparison - Among 23 subjects, 13 subjects were more satisfied with the microcurrent toothbrush, with 56% for the microcurrent toothbrush and 30% for the general toothbrush. Based on this result, it can be judged that the microcurrent toothbrush can show an effective plaque reduction effect in reducing tooth surface bacteria. It showed a 9.5% reduction change in dental caries activity and did not show a statistically significant reduction effect.
