This is a clinico-radiographic study to compare and evaluate the efficacy of 1% Metformin (MF) gel in combination with Platelet Rich fibrin and Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) alone in the treatment of Class II furcation defects.

1. Patients with Stage III periodontitis as assessed by probing pocket depth (PPD)greater than equal to 6mm, interdental clinical attachment level (CAL) greater than equal to 5mm and Horizontal Probing depth (HPD) greater than equal to 2mm.
2. Patients with at least two Class II furcation defects in either maxillary or mandibular arch or interarch.
1. Patients with history of systemic diseases, allergies or drug usage.
2. Patients who have undergone periodontal treatment in previous 6 months.
3. Pregnant or lactating women.
4. Smokers, tobacco chewers and patients with poor oral hygiene index (PI >1.5) will be excluded from the study.
5. In addition, teeth with furcation defects, non-vital teeth, carious teeth warranting restorations and mobility > grade II will also be excluded
